Information

Stay informed about what is going on at your alma mater thanks to the Alumni edition of the Institute’s weekly newsletter News of the Week.

Networking

Keep your contact information up-to-date and allow other members of the Alumni community to find you easily by accepting to share your details. If you do not accept, however, we keep your information confidential. You can get in touch with 8000 graduates from the Institute, notably through our online directory.

Become a member of the official Linkedin group created by the Institute’s Alumni Office (currently 2000 strong). Click on “request to join” and we will verify your alumni status in our database then validate your request. We also encourage you to like us on Facebook (1200 fans to date).

Career

The Institute’s career services are there to assist alumni find work or distribute job offers among our students. Inform the Human Resources department at your place of business; announcements on our password protected pages are regularly read by nearly 1000 students and more than 8000 young graduates and Alumni.

You can continue to receive information on new job vacancies by requesting to receive our Career Services Weekly Newsletter. More than 20% of the offers are for people with three to ten years or more of professional experience.

  • “Licence”-Master Equivalence

On the 1st of December 2005, the Swiss University Conference decided that the “licences” and diplomas formerly issued by the Institute are equivalent to Master’s degrees. Furthermore, the universities that issued the “licences” or diplomas are required to certify, upon request, the equivalence of these to a Master’s degree. The holder of the licence or diploma is also authorised to use the title Master to replace their previous title.
Students who obtained the “licence” in International Relations at the former Graduate Institute of International Studies (GIIS) can contact Ms. Sonia Kessler, from the degree office at the University of Geneva, Uni Dufour (2nd floor, office 225).

Executive Education

Benefit from special Alumni rates for the Institute’s Executive Education programmes or inform others about these programmes.

Coaching

Make better use of your professional experience or assess your situation with our partner HCM Partners. You can even communicate with them via Skype. The special rate for Alumni is CHF 180 for each session of one hour to one hour and a half.

Public Events

Attend our public events, round tables and news briefings, which cover major world issues with our faculty and eminent guests. Sign up to receive our invitations.

Special Hotel Rates

Book a hotel close to the Institute during your stays in Geneva and visit us while you are here.

  • The Mon Repos Hotel and Residence*** gives special rates to our Alumni: single rooms for CHF 167, a double room for one person at CHF 207, a double room for two people at CHF 217 and a junior suite for CHF 316 per night.
  • The Hotel Eden*** also offers special rates to Alumni: CHF 195 for a single room, CHF 225 for a double room for one person, and CHF 260 for a double room for two people.

A hotel tax of CHF 3.30 is charged per person per night in addition to the above-mentioned prices.
