2012 Pierre du Bois Visiting Professorship

 

IN CONTEMPORARY LATIN AMERICAN HISTORY

 

This is a position for an established scholar at a Latin American university, for a period of several weeks – to be negotiated at the time of appointment – during the 2012-13 academic year. For a scholar on sabbatical, the length of the appointment can be extended to a full academic term.

 

During his/her time at the Institute, the Pierre du Bois Visiting Professor is expected to:

  • Present a paper to the International History department’s research seminar;
     
  • Deliver a public lecture;
     
  • Participate in the teaching programme of the International History department (e.g. by giving a 14-meeting course in 7 weeks);
     
  • Be available to meet with graduate students.

 

Thanks to the generous support of the Pierre du Bois Foundation, the Graduate Institute will offer the Visiting Professor an honorarium that includes travel and living costs, and provide an office and access to all necessary IT, library andother facilities.
