Could you describe your current position?
The International Labour Organization  (ILO) is one of the oldest agencies of the United Nations and will celebrate its 100th Anniversary in 2019! It has a unique tripartite governance structure made up of governments, workers and employers giving the ILO an edge in incorporating “real world” knowledge about employment and work. My work involves providing administrative and financial support and contributing to the smooth running of the fast moving Office of the Director-General.

How do you think the Executive Master INP will be beneficial to your career plans and projects?
In all its forms, negotiation is something one needs to be aware of, and understand on a more comprehensive basis, in order to improve personal skills. I have come to realize that after several years of
working in international organizations it is of extreme importance, amongst other things, to be sensitive to diversity when trying to execute vital tasks.

Why did you choose the Graduate Institute?
The strength of the Institute’s reputation and its advantage in being foremost in development and international relations have proved to be the values I was searching for. The Graduate Institute is very special given its combination of development studies and international relations. Faculty and students come from a wide range of backgrounds. Its location in Geneva, the home of many international organizations, makes it truly unique as a centre of excellence and evidence based research.

How is your participation experience?
So far it has been a first-class and stimulating experience and I have learnt a great deal. The course is intensive and hard work but it can be combined with a demanding job. There are many mutually beneficial
overlaps and we are all giving off our best! The programme not only offers tutoring by well-known experts in the different areas of International Negotiation and Policy Making but also attracts highly experienced participants from both the public and private sector. The diversity and flexibility of the programme have helped me to gain confidence.
