Donation by Mr Edgar de Picciotto and his family for the construction of the Student House
 
Donation from Mrs Kathryn Wassermann Davis for the “Maison de la paix” (USD 10 million), in addition to an annual donation of USD 250,000 to fund PhD scholarships
 
Donation from the Loterie Romande (CHF 2 million) for the construction of the Student Residence.
 
Contribution by the Wilsdorf Foundation to the “Maison de la Paix” to finance the purchase of the land needed for its construction; this land will be granted to the Institute as a freehold for a period of 100 years

 

Construction of a building situated at the Place des Nations called the Portail des Nations financed by the Pictet foundation, created by Mr Ivan Pictet
 

Chairs

Donation from the Hoffmann Foundation to fund a Chair in Environmental Economics (CHF 6 million given to the FERIS)
 
Donation from Mr. Nicolas Pictet to fund the Pictet Chair in International Environmental Law, a position held since September 2009 by Mr. J. Vinuales (CHF 600,000 over three years)

 

Creation of a centre of expertise dedicated to finance and development [pdf] for which the Pictet Foundation, created by Mr Ivan Pictet, will provide funding for one or two chairs

 

Donation from Mr Yves Oltramare to finance the Yves Oltramare Chair dedicated to the theme "Religion and Politics in the Contemporary World" for a period of 10 years
     

Teaching

Creation of the International Edgar de Picciotto Prize of CHF 100,000,granted each two years in the Institute's areas of specialisation
 
The Bank SYZ & CO will sponsor a course in Econometrics during the Spring 2010 semester.
 

Research

Donation from Mr. Yves Mirabaud to fund a research project by Professor Marc Flandreau
 
One-year funding, generously granted by Norges Bank to finance a Fellow working under the supervision of Prof. Marc Flandreau (CHF 125,000)
 
Donation from the company Mercuria in support of Professor Richard Baldwin’s "Think Ahead Programme on International Trade" (CHF 200,000)
 

Scholarships

The Bank SYZ & CO will fund a scholarship for a student of the Master in International Economics for the 2009-2010 academic year
 
Annual funding for two PhD scholarships (CHF 40,000), a Pierre du Bois prize for an outstanding PhD thesis, and an international symposium, donated by the Fondation Pierre du Bois
 
Funding in honour of Professor Alexandre Swoboda of three scholarships by the Swiss National Bank, Swiss Private Bankers Association and the Association of Foreign Banks in Switzerland (CHF 600,000 over four years)
 
Funding by a patron of five scholarships for the 2009-2010 academic year (CHF 100,000). CARIGEST SA is this generous patron's advisor. Scholarship requests must be submitted directly to the Institute.
 
Funding by the Washington DC chapter of the Alumni Association of a PhD scholarship for the 2009-2010 academic year
