Shamanism in the Andes: The Quest for a Global Balance
Nicolas Pauccar Calcina Q’ero shaman, Cusco region, Peru Introduction Nicolas Pauccar Calcina comes from a long linage of traditional Q'ero shamans, called paqos. He was taught, and continues to learn, under the guidance of his father, the Pampamesayoq, Sebastian Pauccar Flores. Nicolas lives in Cusco, Peru, with his wife and children, and extended Q'ero family. He leads the activities of Ayni-wasi, a cultural and shamanic healing center. He is Cusco representative for Ayni GLOBAL, a non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving indigenous culture and wisdom. This lecture is organised by the Development Studies Programme.
