Global Health Diplomacy
The Global Health Diplomacy (GHD) pillar acts as a case study and training centre by providing a unique approach to knowledge transfer involving leading academics and experienced practitioners. It strives to build the skills of policy- and decision-makers for negotiations at the international, regional and national level. Its activities mainly focus on: 1. Offering executive courses for diplomats, health attachés and staff of international organisations based in Geneva and in cooperation with partners in other locations; 2. Organising events on GHD, such as the annual symposium on GHD or briefings on ongoing negotiations; 3. Developing training tools such as handbooks, negotiation briefs, briefing books on the workings of health organisations and other bodies of relevance to global health, as well as primers, dictionaries and glossaries; 4. Monitoring ongoing multilateral negotiations on health and providing briefings to engage in ongoing negotiations; 5. Publishing regularly on ongoing negotiations, preparing a series of in-depth case studies and establishing a widely accessible case study archive; 6. Conducting Masters’ trainings (training of trainers); 7. Cooperating closely with other networks and training initiatives. |
